Welcome to Connected Hearts Counseling

Our Story

Connected Hearts Counseling came from a theme that I noticed during my time as a therapist and a philosophy dear to the values of social workers. Human connection. I saw that therapy was most effective when there was a genuine human connection, because if we do not feel seen or heard, how can we truly connect with other people and with ourselves. With that in mind, I aim to create a space where each person can be themselves, be truly seen, and accepted as a human. The values that I hold in my life and within Connected Hearts Counseling is Authenticity, Connection, Curiosity, and Intention.

Authenticity means being real with ourselves and others without being cruel or infringing on the rights of another person.

Connection means being a human with another human, recognizing our individual story, and feeling comfortable to share that story.

Curiosity means to ask questions, sometimes tough questions, in a compassionate and gentle way, without judgement for what we discover.

Intention means being purposeful in what we say and do, how we say and do it, and owning our decisions.

It really is an honor to sit in the same space with another person, genuinely listen to what is being shared, and walk beside them as they navigate what they want their life to look like. Therapy can be an incredibly vulnerable and rewarding experience, and I firmly believe that healing begins when we open ourselves up to the healing we deserve. I would love to go with you on that journey and I look forward to connecting with you.

Meet Your Therapist

Hi! I’m Aaron Hill, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) based in northern Colorado. I got my masters in Social Work (MSW) in 2014 from the University of Southern California. I started my clinical journey working in community mental health in 2015, receiving my LCSW in 2017 and my LAC in 2018. Along my journey I have worked in residential crisis services, residential addiction treatment, in a hospital and medical setting, in a group practice, and now in private practice. During my time, I have provided individual therapy, group therapy, case management services, substance use evaluations, and clinical supervision.

I specialize in addiction/recovery, trauma, and attachment issues. I use a harm-reduction, trauma informed, person centered approach drawing from attachment theory with the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and solution focused therapy (SFT). My goal is to help my clients overcome challenges they are facing and live a life that they want to live.
