A consultation is a space where you get to share a bit of background about yourself and what you are looking for in clinical supervision.

Just be yourself and be ready to share about your clinical expectations and requirements. The supervisor will direct the conversation based on the information provided.

Yes, it is important that you and the supervisor feel like a good fit for each other before beginning supervision.

Finding the right supervisor is important and not everyone is going fit. If you feel like the supervisor you talk with is not a good fit for you, you can ask if the supervisor has a referral/recommendation or you are welcome to research other supervisors yourself.

Honesty is the best policy. If it's not a good fit, that's ok. It's the supervisor's job to support you where you're at.

After a consultation, the supervisor will send you paperwork to complete, including a supervision contract, payment information, and consent forms. Once that is completed, the supervisor will discuss scheduling ongoing supervision.
