A consultation is a space where you get to share a bit of background about yourself and what you are looking for in therapy.

Yes, it is important that you and the therapist feel like a good fit for each other before beginning services.

Finding the right therapist is important and not everyone is going fit. If you feel like the therapist you talk with is not a good fit for you, you can ask if the therapist has a referral/recommendation or you are welcome to research other therapists for yourself

Honesty is the best policy. If it's not a good fit, that's ok. It's the therapist's job to support you where you're at.

After a consultation, the therapist will send you paperwork to complete, including intake paperwork, insurance verification if necessary, payment information, and consent forms. Once that is completed an intake will be scheduled.
